Gema Cruz, LCSWA

Gema is a native of Costa Rica who calls NC home. She is a bilingual therapist and life coach who has been making a positive and transformative impact in clients' lives for two decades.

 

Gema holds an undergraduate degree in psychology and a master's degree in social work from Liberty University. She is currently a Clinical Social Worker Associate and a Certified Life Coach. She has lived experience and clinical expertise in the areas of trauma, embodiment and somatic experiences, military life, parenting, the intersection of spirituality and mental health, and religious trauma. She focuses on lasting transformation and healing from the root causes of your challenges, rather than just providing temporary relief. With compassion, she creates a safe space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings, empowering you to rebuild your confidence, inner strength, and resilience. However, Gema tailors her approach to the specific goals and strengths of each client, ensuring that each person experiences therapy that is a good fit for them. She is also passionate about helping clients untangle harmful messages they may have received from purity culture. She supports clients who are healing from the impact of purity culture, helping them rebuild a sense of self, body trust, and healthy relationships while honoring their personal values and beliefs.
